Join Peter Hirst at the HGC Greenhouse to learn about biochar — what it is (chemical composition), how it is made, its uses in agriculture and gardening, its contribution to soil health & sustainability , and how and where we can obtain biochar for use in our own spaces.

A member of the Enfield NH Conservation Commission, Peter is a biochar expert who has been making and using biochar for decades. Part of his presentation will include an outdoor demonstration, so please dress accordingly for the weather conditions. (Snow date is Thursday, January 29, 10 am–noon.)
