The History of the Hanover Town Gardens is a fascinating story, told by our long-time Member and former president Sandra Johnson. Learn about the early Johnny Appleseed-like instigator Julius Mason, the amazing landscape designs of Susan Berry from 2015 to 2022, and what the future holds for our gardens under the guidance of our new “Town Gardens Goddess,” Case Ohz.

From 2016 to 2022 landscape designer and artist Susan Berry oversaw our Hanover Town Gardens planting each season that inspired and delighted countless Upper Valley residents and visitors alike. We are so grateful for all you have done Susan! More photos to be added to the video soon.

In the fall of 2022 Case Ohz (aka Hanover Town Gardens Goddess) and her planting team began the transformation from annuals-based bedding to primarily perennials with drought-tolerant and pollinator-friendly characteristics. This is the first chapter of a new sustainability story!
